Abstract: This study focused on Digital Media and Entrepreneurship Intention among University Students in Delta State, Nigeria. To achieve this, it investigated the influence of digital media literacy and digital media usage on the entrepreneurial intentions of university students. With the growing role of digital platforms in education and entrepreneurship, understanding how students engage with these tools is crucial for promoting self-reliant economic behaviour. The study adopted a descriptive survey design and relied on a structured questionnaire tested for reliability at 0.82 Cronbach alpha and was administered to 380 students, out of which 342 were correctly completed and used for analysis. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, and multiple regression analysis. Findings revealed that digital media literacy (β = 1.110, p < 0.000) had a strong and positive influence on entrepreneurship intention, conversely, digital media usage (β = -0.136, p < 0.002) was negatively but significantly related to entrepreneurship intention. The study concluded that while digital media literacy enhances entrepreneurial drive among students, unregulated digital media usage may dampen this potential. It recommended integrating digital entrepreneurship and literacy into the university curriculum and organizing training programs to guide students on purposeful digital engagement. These efforts would equip students with the competencies needed to identify, plan, and exploit economic opportunities for self-employment in Nigeria’s rapidly changing digital landscape.
